Safety on the Farm
Here at Blackberry Farm Park, your safety is very important to us. To ensure you enjoy your day out, as highlighted in the Pre-Visit Presentation at the bottom of the page, we have put together a very simple list of rules that we ask you to follow. Click the button at the bottom of this page to read the Official DEFRA leaflet for more details on safety.
-
- Wash Your Hands
After contact with animals, it is important to wash your hands – especially before eating any food or playing in the play area. We have a number of wash stations available to use and we also have fully equipped toilets available.
- Do Not Eat Animal Food
The animal food is on sale in our cafe and kiosk and is for animal consumption only. Please only feed our animals with the food purchased here.
- Pregnant Women
All pregnant women should avoid contact with sheep or lambs. EColi can be extremely dangerous to pregnant women. Please refer to the NHS website for clear advice before visiting us or any farm.
- Health & Safety
Your health and safety is very important to us and so we have staff trained in First Aid. They are available at all times, stationed around the farm. If you have any open wounds, cuts or grazes, it is important to keep them covered up to prevent against infection.
- Supervise Children
Children are the responsibility of their teachers and must be supervised at all times.
