What happens on the day?
The Farmer’s day will start earlier than our normal opening hours at 9.00am. The Farmer will be provided with their very own Blackberry Farm Park water bottle and become an accompanied member of staff for the day!
Their duties will include feeding all of our animals and putting them out in their paddocks. They will also help with collecting fresh chicken eggs, grooming the horses and donkeys, and mucking out enclosures (this will be kept to a minimum!). The Farmer will also assist with our Daily Activity Programme which includes the public animal handling sessions and assisting the tractor driver.
Please note that this is experience involves your child working alongside a member of staff for the day. Parents are not encouraged to take part, as we want your child to gain as much from the experience as possible, however parents are more than welcome to enjoy our facilities in the Cafe. If you wish to stay on site, you are allowed onto the Farm from 10am.
If you feel that your child would struggle with not being with a parent, then this experience is not for them! But our Mini Farmer for the Day would be perfect.
Experience ends at 3.00pm.
